I decided to apply for a job at BCG because I expected it to offer me a large variety of work and the opportunity to get the most out of myself. After one and a half years at BCG, this has definitely turned out to be true. I am having a great time working in different industries (from insurance to cables to telecoms) and each BCG experience is challenging me to push my limits.

Within BCG, my background helps me to look at problems from an economic or financial perspective, but since a comprehensive perspective is absolutely vital when solving complex problems, there are always opportunities to grow further. Above all I can say that I'm working with fun and energizing people, and that's what makes BCG unique.

Elke joined BCG's Amsterdam office as an Associate in 2007.

She holds an MS in technology Mmanagement and finance from the University of Groningen.

What thrills me most about BCG is the speed at which you
develop, and the impact you have early in your career. I still
remember my first case team meeting, where we stood in
front of a white board to think through the approach for the
project. Everyone was asked for their view and I happened
to be first. Initially I felt a bit uncomfortable, yet the partner
started writing down my ideas and then the team built upon
them. I was thrilled by this open culture and the opportunity
to have an impact from day one. Now, many cases later, I
have learned a lot, but one thing has stayed the same: the
excitement that comes with continuously being challenged
to grow further.

Pieter holds an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg
School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Law
degree from the University of Groningen. He joined the
Amsterdam office as an Associate in 2001, and worked in
BCG’s New York office from 2005-2008. Pieter is a member
of the Corporate Development practice.
