As long as I can remember I always had a strong desire to see, experience and learn as much as possible. I have always been interested in a broad range of topics, ranging from philosophy and literature to business and politics. This broad interest made it hard for me to choose what to study, and in the final stage of my studies, I experienced the same problem when I had to choose the next career step.

Strategy consulting is in my opinion a great therapy for restless souls, since it gives you the option to work on a variety of assignments in a variety of industries with a diverse and ever changing group of highly motivated and interesting people.

For me BCG has been the perfect choice. I have worked on projects in diverse industries such as energy and financial services and have done everything from building complex models to guiding client teams during reorganization and post merger integration processes. What I like most about the job though are the bright, funny and interesting people I get to work with every day.

John Luijs graduated in business economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and joined BCG in 2003.

As long as I remember, I am interested in about everything I
see, hear or feel. This never-ending curiosity drives me to
follow many interests and read a lot about many different
topics. In following up on my interests I usually feel a drive
to be good at everything I do. Then, when I am good at
something, I enjoy it but soon enough I find myself looking
for something new to learn. BCG seems to be the perfect
answer to what makes me tick. The many different clients
and topics, the drive to learn many new things, the aim to
be good at everything you do, and the passion to make
organizations more successful and effective. The work
combines analytical insights with breakthrough ideas and
an incredible push for success. All this combined in one job,
in an organization with fun and inspiring people, and I get
paid for it...

Cyrus Ditzel joined the Amsterdam office of The Boston Consulting Group as an associate in June 2005. Cyrus holds a Msc in Business Economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and graduated with distinction.

After completing my MSc Biomedical Physics in Amsterdam
in 2006, I decided to abandon the world of science and enter
the corporate world. Starting at a top consulting company
was a logical next step. Having been an active member of
an Amsterdam student rowing club, both as a rower and as
a coach of race rowers, I was looking for an environment
where I would be surrounded by enthusiastic young people
with capabilities and drive. BCG turned out to be exactly
that. After several years at BCG, I still enjoy working with the
unique set of humorous people with bright minds. On top of
that, BCG has proven to be a portal to understanding the
mechanisms behind Banking, Insurance, Energy, Consumer
Goods, and much more.
